Interview with Mathew
JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Mathew: I didn't take any, but you could go see the
nurse if you had a medical need.
JM: How did you get your medications?
Mathew: At nighttime the guards would call inmates who
needed meds, and they had to take them in front
of the guards. Some of the guys would keep the
meds and sell them to other inmates.
JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Mathew: You might get thrown in the hole. This means
you don't have any rec time at all, no TV and
I'm not sure if they have books or not.
