JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process: Terri: I was charged with Failure TO Appear/ Bench
Warrant for a traffic violation I had already
previously gone to court on, then failed to return
on ordered date. I awaited bail in the pod over
the weekend. When I was finally able to contact
someone to post my bond, it took approximately an
hour or two to completely be released.
JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested. Terri: I was arrested in Sedgwick County, and being
detained there, when Butler was notified they
informed sedgwick they wished to place a hold on
me untill they were able to transport me.Once I
had bonded in sedgwick, Butler was notified and
picked me up within the same hour that I was
released from sedgwi
JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall. Terri: I was out on bond, I arrived 5 minutes early. The
room was packed full of people from the Judges
desk all the way back to the back of the room. The
court room itself could not have been bigger than
a typical 2 bedroom home. Very crowded, and alot
of people with out seats. The Judge called names
as appeared on docket, you walked up to his desk,
he read your presumed charges, asked if
understood, then told me he was dismissing me upon
the stipulation I agreed to apply my bond payment
to my fines still owed. I agreed. He stamped n
signed my file and told me he did not want to
catch me in his court room again. Then I left.
JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of? Terri: Failure to yield, innatentive driving.
