Interview with Frank and Adam

JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Frank: Yes I did but there were 2 phones and 25 people.
Adam: no not at all.there in holding

JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Frank: If an inmate had money in their account, they could buy phone cards otherwise, the recipient of the call had to pay for the call. I would estimate that the average inmate spent about $20 per week.
Adam: it costs the person receiving the call 14.95 a call at the very least then charged per minute.depending on the loved one upwards of $50.00 a week

JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Frank: No, you didn't have to if you called collect.
Adam: 15.95 call fee and 2.95 amin collect calls and there is no other method

JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Frank: They recorded them but not sure if anyone was actively listening at the time.
Adam: yes you would hear through the phone its being monitord
