JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process: Ricky: the process of this jail was very quick and fast
they give you a deal you can take or leave it but
the process is very quick and professional I was
only waiting for three days before the court
hearing they let me go and that is when I left
the state Frank: It was scary not knowing what the outcome would be.
JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested. Ricky: I was walking on a side street in Camden I guess
they the police felt I looked out of place stoped
me and searched me and I was honest and told them
I had 2 bags of dope on me they ran my name and
found I had a probation violation out of PA Frank: No I removed a knife from an intoxicated person and
i was arrested and charged with aggravated assault
with a deadly weapon. The cops didn't believe me or
the so called victim so i was arrested and taken to
jail.
JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall. Ricky: it was my first time being arrested for drugs so
they were very lenient on me the judge was very
nice it was a fast process but the other people
in the court room seemed to have no clue on what
to do the da had no clue who I was or anything Frank: Court was scary i was only told of how many years
in prison i was facing and had to wait a month for
a new court date.
JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of? Ricky: I was charged with passion of a cds class 3 felony Frank: I was charged with 2nd degree aggravated assault
with a deadly weapon. I took a plea deal and got
4th degree aggravated assault.
