Good Behavior

Interview with Katy, Sarah and Laura

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Katy: No.
Sarah: I was given early release due to complting a drug program "in-house"
Laura: No, I did what I was supposed to and just waiting for probation t o be over

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Katy: They don't have goodtime at this jail unless you become a JIP (or GIP...not sure of the spelling), or someone who had a higher level of responsibility. They get out of their cell early in the morning to file papers. You have to be in jail more than 30 days to get that. They can get 2 days off for every 1 day served.
Sarah: My sentence was suspended 1.5years
Laura: None for me, too much money I owe

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Katy: See above.
Sarah: there were many individual who were involved in altercations and lost their "porter" position. Should I had not compelted the program I would have served the whole sentence
Laura: I've seen people lose it. Over dumb stuff too. This girl lost it because she was caught passing notes to her "girlfriend" come to find out, on the outside she's not even gay!
