JM: How many different blocks were there? Wyatt: Butler County had 7 different blocks. Erica: Im not sure I was on the womens block there was
only one
JM: Did they have names? If so, what were they? Wyatt: The blocks were just lettered from A to G for a
total of 7. Each block had a different
population. Erica: My block was the B pod. the other ones were male
pods and had different letter
JM: Which types of inmates were housed in the different blocks? Wyatt: G block was the female block. E and F held
mostly convicted rapists and pediphiles. They
never seemed to leave their block, for fear of
getting beat up by other inmates. Rapists and
pedophiles are considered the lowest class of
inmates by the others. Even guards treated them
differently than other inmates. Block A, B, C,
and D were general population male blocks. Erica: all the women were housed together it didn't
matter about the crime. they had the max out
females on one wall but we all shared the same
pod and socialized together
JM: What do you remember being the nicest and worst parts about the different blocks? Wyatt: All of the blocks were equally uncomfortable.
The entire prison was filthy and old. There was
dust and cobwebs eberywhere, so it seemed like
people were always sick and spreading germs in
such tight spaces. It was not air conditioned,
so the entire building just stunk of urine, and
body odor. The water in the showers was always
ice cold, and the mattresses in the cells are
paperthin. The only half decent thing about the
blocks I lived in, were the TV rooms. The
inmates would get together on certain evenings
and watch their programs together. Erica: there was only one block and nothing about it was
nice. we were locked down all the time it was
annoying and it was not good. the worst part I
would say would be being locked in a cell. the
best part was it was kinda new so the jail was
pretty clean
