Interview with April, Julie, Brenda, Cesar and Eddie
JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)? April: You were not allowed to have any type of
clothing from the outside. Everything was
issued by the county. Tiu could have your own
shoes though. Julie: in the work release you can have so many of your own
clothing. So many work clothes, pants, 7 underwear
socks, sweats, pajamas. Brenda: Noting. You weren't allowed to wear anything
that was yours. If you have rubber soles on your
feet you could keep your own sneakers and wear
them on the pod. But that was all. Cesar: only sock and sneakers no shoes or boots oh yeah
and tee shirt . cool to wear sneakers of your
liken some sneaker hurted my feet but its cool . Eddie: Nothing but tennis shoes was allowed to be brought
in from the outside and those could only come in
if you were arrested while wearing them besides a
suit for your court hearing.

which look like hospital scrubs. It was a v-
neck type of top with a pocket on the left
chest. There were no pockets. The underwear
bras and socks were previously worn by prior
inmates. You also were issued a blue gown to
sleep in and or walk to the shower in. You
also got a blue sweatshirt, no hood no
pockets. Julie: The work release facility does not have a uniform
but for the most part your street clothes, work
clothes have guidelines, probably stricter than my
kids' high school. Brenda: It was a set uniform. Same color top and pants.

sweatshirts are nicer and newer so a lot of
people would be on the look out for them Julie: there are no assigned clothes but they assign how
many of each article of clothing you can have. Brenda: If you are wearing orange you are a murdered.
