into the jail. None. Walter: No outside clothing was allowed. They provided socks and
boxers, pants and a shirt and flip flops. No sweatshirts were
given, luckily it wasn't too chilly. Shawn: All of the clothes you were wearing when arrested
are taken and you are given a jumpsuit and
underwear and socks Mimi: We were not allowed to bring in anything from the
outside other then prescription eye glasses. Saul: No personal clothes were allowed in jail. They were
all taken away to storage to be saved for your
release. Heather: Nothing. you turn everything in and it is put on
your property and you dont see it again untill you
are being released Ricky: Absolutely no outside clothes were allowed when I
was in RJc. We were allowed to purchase underwear
and socks thru store even if indigent. Sterling: Just my undies and socks with the pills. You can
also bring pictures when you turn yourself in. Doug: you could wear sweatshirts that had no hoods or
anything printed on them they had to be plain with
no drawstrings. George: you were not allowed to wear any personal clothes
that you brought into the jail.
JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you. Jenna: Yes everyone wore the same thing, khaki pants with elastic. V-neck
khaki shirts, that were short sleeved. Cris: Orange Bonnie: Red jumpsuites. Ashley: Yes. Typical top/pants like cheap scrub suit Aaron: During intake you are issued one pair of white socks. One
pair of. White underwear and an extremely tight pair of red
pants and red "shirt". Walter: They were standard scrubs type shirts with a large v neck.
Overly wide regardless of size. One shirt pocket. Elastic pants
with no pockets. Socks and boxers and flip flops were normal.
I think all the clothing was orange or yellow. Shawn: If you were in for a misdemeanor you got a blue
jumpsuit or if you were in for a felony you got a
red one Mimi: Yes, we all have to wear the same thing. You
would get a red shirt and a red pair of pants,
similar to scrubs. We would also get a pair of
socks and sandals, a pair of high waisted
underwear and a sports bra. Saul: I was issued a red shirt and red paints (hopefully
that fit), a pair of green underwear, a pair of
orange socks, and a pair of tan rubber flip-flops. Heather: im a woman, so i was issued a sports bra, one pair
of white socks, long white socks, some brown
rubbery jesus sandals, a round or v necked shirt
that is 100%polyester and long red pants made of
the same material. and you get one pair of granny
panties. Ricky: We were given a top and bottom - cotton type
short sleeve v neck red top. Long pant elastic
waist also red available in small, medium, large,
xl, 2x, 3x Sterling: An orange jumpsuit like in the netflix show with
the lesbians. You can also wear a t-shirt in
certain blocks but thats about all I remember. Doug: You were issued two pairs of pants, two pairs of
shirts, two pairs of underware, and two pairs of
socks and they changes them once a week. George: we were issued an orange top and pair of pants,
that were i guess when they were originally
purchased thick. They were similar to nursing
scrubs.
JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned? Jenna: No. Always get a bigger size that your own, so when your out of
your cell you can stay warm. Your not allowed to bring covers or
sheets out of your cell. Mel: no. Bonnie: One inmate, a girl, had to sleep without a
mattress because there were none available. Ashley: I don't know Aaron: No. Everyones the same. Other thann sizing. You of course
want. To be comfortable. In these clothes your wearing
everydy so you'd likee. It to. Be a. Little bigger than usual
ffor comfort. Not notorious big but loose fitting. Walter: Not really. If on laundry day you get a torn item or the wrong
size they will let you swap out before they cart the clean
clothes away. Shawn: You only wore what they gave you to wear period Mimi: No, everyone would get the same exact thing to
wear. Saul: Just make sure that you had enough underwear to last
the week. Heather: yes you want to look for newer underwear and newer
socks also a v neck shirt is preferred over the
round neck Ricky: There were no assigned clothes in high demand in
King County jail. There were however desirable
state clothes issued in DOC. Sterling: Not that I knew of. I didnt give a half a shit
about the clothes in there. Doug: no i dont think so everyone had they same amount. George: some of the inmates bought form the commissary
cheap tennis shoes.
JM: Was the clothing different between men and women? Jenna: No. Everyone whore the same thing, except the women get bras. Cris: NO Mel: no. Bonnie: No. Ashley: I don't know Aaron: No difference except a v neck shirt which almost always
ended up. On a. Male. But disputing getting a new shirt
would get you nowhere. Walter: From what I saw in the court room it's the same outfit. Women
probably got different underwear though. Shawn: No they were the same Mimi: No, the clothing was the same, but Im assuming
tht the men didn't get bras. Saul: No the clothing was the same Heather: no it is exactly the same except for the underwear. Ricky: I saw no difference in men's and women's clothing Sterling: Didnt seem like it to me. Doug: No i dont think they were. George: i do not think so.
