Closing Advice

Interview with Collin, Robbie, Michelle and Lorrie

JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail?
Collin: We're in there for a reason. There's a lot of people on the phone trying to get their asses out of jail but it's not going to happen. They just need to do their time. Best thing a family can do is let them know they'll be there when they get out.
Robbie: Make sure they have money on there books and clothes to wear under the jumpsuit. If they have these things it will make there stay alot easier although they are in jail.
Michelle: Just to try to stick to yourself and do your time by playing cards and put money on their books so they can get snacks and minutes on the phone so they can call because thats all you have to look forward too.
Lorrie: be patient because they take their time about everything and most of the time they act like they can't give you any info about your family member or act like they don't know any information

JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them?
Collin: Tell 'em to say "yes sir" or "no sir" to the guards because I seen some people get into trouble for talking back and disrespecting the guards. It's a good way to get your ass whooped.
Robbie: Just try to stay out of other peoples business even if you think they are not bothered by you just stay away from people if you dont know them. try to remain patient and be as comfortable as you can while you are there.
Michelle: To make sure they have on a white T-shirt, white bra, white socks, and white underwear because you don't get any of that while you are in there. Plus, try to get someone to put money on your books because you don't get deodorant or shampoo if not.
Lorrie: ask family to send you books to read and stay to yourself to stay out of trouble send money for commissary so you don't starve to death because you won't want to eat the regular food

JM: Please list any other jail or rehab facilities you have been to.
Collin: No others.
Robbie: Fayetteville Tennessee county jail. Limestone county jail. and madison county courthouse jail.
Michelle: I have been to Women's Place in Tuscaloosa, AL. and Lovelady Center in Birmingham, AL. Plus Synergy in Memphis, TN. and Fellowship house in Memphis, TN.
Lorrie: There weren't any others.
