JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time? Jerry: church services and time outside to get fresh air
and walk around and be in the sun and visits from
friends and family they would have magazines and
books to read a lot of drawing your own things
they also had alcoholic and drug rehab facilities
that's all there was didn't really provide much
facilities Pat: basketball
classes-computer mechanic
working in the kitchen
fitness classes\commissary
church groups help me get my ming in focus
reading books helped me mind my business
you can get your highschool diploma
helped others that are slow and need tutoring
cleaned the grounds
maintenance programs where you can work around hte
jail/prison
laundry room separate clothes and linens/
hobby shop
JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details. Jerry: you only had from 10 am - 8 pm for entertainment
but people would get mad because they had stuff on
that wasn't pleasant for them and they would have
a church in the same building but people wouldn't
like it because they weren't able to sleep so that
was a big problem for everyone Pat: no entertainment
except play cards
in jail you have too form your own entertainment
which is play cards and bet on put a pizza party
together with condiments
listen too the radio at certain time allowed
having a church event that will allow inmates get
together too pass the time away

JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail? Jerry: yes because of the un healthy food and only 2
meals a day wasn't enough but i would exercise
every other day to make the day go by fast but
you would only be able to do basic exercise no
weights Pat: alot of weights and fitness
you do alot of walking or free wights will pass
the time and help others with fitness
JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise? Jerry: you would be able to go out every other day but
just to walk around in the dirt and play football
with a sock in a ball the only thing you can do
are push ups or pick up water bags to work on your
arms Pat: daily-walked around/ played basketball- they let
you out a few times a day 30 minutes incruments
and if you are on yard mainenance you got out more

JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held? Jerry: the church services where small and good they
where held every two days and they would provide
you with a bible and the essentials you needed for
the services Pat: yes-very spirtual and it got us in a postive mood
the church services were held on sundays and
sometimes they would have event in weekday evening
