Interview with Fred

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Fred: 3. Sack for breakfast hot lunch hot dinner.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Fred: I thought the food was good considering the circumstance. For breakfast we got cereal with milk and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Lunch varied from hamburger with beans salad and a cookie to tostados. Dinner Lasagna with buttered bread salad and jello was my favorite. It wasn't to repetitive considering and it was always tasty. My only complaint was the amount. People would gamble and or hustle for more food with each other if they didn't get money on their books for store.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Fred: My least favorite meal would have to be Salisbury Patty night, because it was so small. Patty with gravy 2 pieces of bread, salad and jello. I would go to bed early ont patty day so breakfast would come sooner.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Fred: No there was no other snacks offered. Commissary was expensive but had a few necessity items like beans and soups that you could satisfy your hunger with affordably. As for snacks it was $.90 for a small back of chips. Candy bars were $1.50.
