Interview with Mish, Sally, Pace, Baby, Jamie, Gerard, Jessica, Manuel, Jay, LKai, George, Terry, Pebbles, Miles and Josie
JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior? Mish: I served 30 days in jail and 123 days on a work
program. Sally: YES I SERVED LESS TIME Pace: The usual mandated program Baby: Will see, If I get good behavior I should only do
38 days for the 90. I have 13 days already served
so that makes it 77 . Then it is 2 days or every 6
you serve so I should get another 2 days off 77
making 75 if you divided 75 by 6, that is 13 so 62
I might be home before Christmas with my 4
children and my husband will be back from deployment Jamie: yes Gerard: In Orange County, we do 2/3 of our time. It's
not hard to follow the rules at Musick. People
nickname it "The Farm" because it's pretty
relaxed there. Some deputies were jerks but some
were especially nice. Jessica: In orange county you serve 2/3 of your time.
You get credit for good time/work time. I was
sentenced to 6 months and did 4 Manuel: very little time is being taking off at oc
county jail so dont plan on it. Jay: Yes all of orange county jail has a 2/3rd time of your sentence if
you do not screw up. LKai: My stint wasn't long enough for that. George: I received half time, which was the legal
requirement at the time. I got no additional
amount. Terry: MY TIME OFF CAME BECAUSE SOME OF IT WAS MANDATORY
TIME OFF FROM THE STATE, AND THE REST WAS WORKED
FOR, INMATE LABOR. Pebbles: I got 25 percent off my sentence for good
behavior. Miles: Yes, 15 days early I got for good behavior. But
you had to get crazy to really hurt your chances
of losing good time.
JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior? Sally: I'M SURE ITS 1/3 MY CASE WAS A LITTLE DIFFERENT
BUT EVERYONE ELSE GOT 1/3 OFF. Pace: Do not recall Baby: like I said above 2 days for every 6, Or I am
suppose to do 2/3 of my 90 days I wont know till I
get back out and smell the grass and see the sun.
And hug my husband, andkids Jamie: depends on how much time you get Jessica: 1/3 Manuel: dont really know it depends on the sheriff. Jay: 1/3 LKai: - Josie: the current time is 50%. 2 days off for every 1
actual good day. George: If I had arrived to prison soon enough, I could have
taken classes to have up to six weeks removed from
my sentence. Other than that, each day counted as
two. Terry: UP TO NINE DAYS OFF PER MONTH Pebbles: The most time I've ever gotten is 50% off but do
to overcrowding it might be 75% soon!!! Miles: 15% as far as I'm aware of, I heard stories of
people getting 50% cause of overcrowding.
JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior? Mish: Fighting Sally: JUST DONT FIGHT, DISRESPECT, AND FOLLOW ORDERS.. Pace: fights, backtalk to asshole deputies Baby: Everything do not saying nothing back it is yes
mama no sir yes sir. Do not get into any dis
agreement with anyone dont do anything out of
line, which it everything except sleeping which
you can get in trouble for if your not up for roll
call. it is worse then the prisoners have it in
cuba pretend your in church! Jamie: fighting getting into trouble writeups Jessica: Always obey and be respectful to deputies, don't
have any contraband and work if they want you to
become a worker Manuel: dont get it with the deputies LKai: - Josie: stay out of trouble.
there was one girl who quit her jail job and
they added 30 actual days to her sentence. George: Fights and such. If I had gotten into them, any
time spent in solitary would have not counted toward
the half time and in some cases would have been
added to the sentence. Terry: YOU HAVE TO AVOID ANY DISCIPLINARY ACTION FOR
FIGHTING, CONTRABAND, MISCONDUCT,OR JUST BREAKING
RULES. LOTS OFF INMATES GET IN TROUBLE, OR PISS OFF
THE WRONG OFFICER AND GET THEIR GAIN TIME TAKEN
AWAY. Pebbles: You can't get write up's or fight. Three write up
or a fight and you loose your good time. I've
seen girls fight or steal and lost all there good
time. Miles: Just follow the rules and your fine. If you were
to refuse to do roll call, or go to work that
would probably get you some time taken away.
