JM: Which jail did you visit?
Jennifer: CJC Colorado Springs
Josh: Criminal justice center in el paso county

JM: How long ago was your visit?
Jennifer: About two months ago.
Josh: 3 weeks ago

JM: How many times did you visit?
Jennifer: Just once.
Josh: just once

JM: How do you go about making an appointment to see an inmate?
Jennifer: It's first come first serve. Get there early on visiting days, there is usually a line.
Josh: you got to call in 48 hours in advance

JM: How long did check-in process take?
Jennifer: A long time. There are a lot of people visiting and not a lot of video booths for visiting.
Josh: 30minutes

JM: Were the guards accommodating?
Jennifer: They were polite and helpful. It was a better experience than I thought it would be.
Josh: no just some staff

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Jennifer: You have to wait in line, outside if it's crowded. You check in at a desk and they send you to a room with several video stations to visit with your inmate. There is no privacy for you or your inmate.
Josh: video visits

JM: How long was your visit? Did the guards ever allow you to take extra time?
Jennifer: I was given 20 mins to visit, the video counts down and cuts off at the 20 min mark.
Josh: 30min, no it was a screen cut off in 30min, sometimes 20-25min or less because you or the person visited was late for visit

JM: What was the parking situation like?
Jennifer: Very crowded, but not impossible.
Josh: small parking lot

JM: What advice would you offer to somebody who is going to visit an inmate in this jail?
Jennifer: Make sure you get there early.
Josh: be ready to wait 30-2hrs to get thru on the phone to get your visit set up
