Interview with Joey, Bob, Anne, Beth, Cheev, JJ, Denise, Brett, Andrew and Bethany
JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior? Joey: No Bob: No, But the district attorney did say they were
giving away "thanksgiving specials"- it was the
day before thanksgiving vacation, and they let
more people than usual out on "signature bond" a
bond that an individual can post with his/her
signature. Signature bonds were once very common
at the magistrate hearing one usually gets within
a day or so of arriving to jail, but they have
become much more infrequent the last few years-
out of a courtroom of 60 or so a couple might be
lucky to get one; it used to be around a half or
so would be able to sign for their own bond. Anne: No. Beth: my case was dismissed Beth: that dont apply Cheev: no JJ: no Denise: No. They offered me parole four months short of my
max out date, and wanted me to wear & pay for an
ankle monitor. I told them to shove the parole
papers up their ass, after all those years I could
do four months standing on my head. Brett: No.. I did not receive any early release time
based on good behavior. Andrew: no i had probation violation and had a lawyer
which helped Bethany: yes i did i got 3 mons off good time
JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior? Joey: Dont Know Bob: I've heard in prison you can count 3 days for
every 2 served or something like that- not
familiar w/ that happening in county jail at all.
Good behavior allows one to become a trustee, go
to the law library, etc. Anne: I don't know. Beth: im not sure i only spent 1 day and a half in
there. Cheev: dont know JJ: none Denise: some people are eligible for 2 for1, but I fell
under a violent felony, which meant I had to do a
minimum of 90% of my time. Brett: I do not recall of anyone receiving time off for
good behavior. Andrew: the most you can receive is hlf off if you become
a worker Bethany: 5 mons off good time
JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior? Joey: trouble (any behavior deemed inappropriate in
the Jail Handbook) Bob: Fighting, possession of contraband,
insubordination, among others. Anne: I don't know. Beth: im not sure Cheev: dont know JJ: no Denise: Fights, insubordination, but I never witnessed
anyone losing good time for any action, not that I
cared about the business of other inmates much. I
was a stay to myself kind of girl for the most part. Brett: I do not recall seeing anyone getting time off for
good behavior. In that facility, I feel that it
does not matter if you are a "model inmate" or
not, you will not receive any good time. Andrew: you cant get into into any trouble at all with the
inmates or the staff in no kind of way also you
cant have any write ups which wil put you on
probation Bethany: no fights dont get into wit that anyone stay too
your self no smokin different things really just
stay out the way of troble and more
