JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't. Greg: No, the other inmates wasn't what i expected. Most
of them wanted to be left alone. Some gave advise on
how to live in jail, and some were mean but never
started anything. There always was that "one guy"
who got in a fight over Kool-Aid drinks. Tyler: yes I did some of the people just had no respect
for people. they had a lot of hate in there
heart. some people kept to themselves and
realized they were going through a season in life
and did not try to bring anyone else down with
them.
JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates? Greg: I didn't really have any fights with anyone. I could
feel when someone was annoyed and i just walked
away. No one started anything with me. I seen a
fight while eating dinner and even then i just
minded my own thing. I found that the guards were
more mean than the inmates. Tyler: I would stay to myself and try to avoid talking
with people. I would exercise and read books or
write letters and occasionally I would go in the
day room to watch TV. I am a easy person to get
along with so I did not have to many problems. I
gave respect and for the most part I got it back
JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change? Greg: No i was not able to choose my cellmates and i did
know someone in there. The whole time i was there i
had about 3 cellmates change and i changed cells
twice. Tyler: no I could not choose an inmate for a cell mate.
there were 4 of us to a cell and depending on
there charges is what determined when I got a new
cell mate
