Interview with Greg and Tyler

JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Greg: In the holding cells i did, in general population, no.
Tyler: yea everyday but they are a rip off

JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Greg: Just for a phone call in the holding cell (while trying to find a bail, contact family) it would cost them $10.00.
Tyler: for a local call it was $2.50 for 15 min I did not no the rates for long distance. Sometimes the phone would disconnect right after you call and then the money and call will be lost

JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Greg: Yes. You can work or get money sent to you to buy those.
Tyler: yes but there was also a collect option

JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Greg: Not that i'm aware of.
Tyler: yes they did and visits too
