Leisure Time

Interview with Harley and Ryan

JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time?
Harley: None.
Ryan: I had no access to any facilities. I was in holding until the weekend, and the programs didn't run on weekends. I never got any fresh air until I was let out.

JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details.
Harley: We all agreed to watch different shows on tv and was not a problem.
Ryan: The one day I was in minimum we all agreed with the entertainment. I had no issues.

JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail?
Harley: Yes, they would not let you do any thing to keep in shape other than do push ups sit ups and walk around your cell.
Ryan: Yes. I had no access to any kind of rec time or anything.

JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise?
Harley: It depended on the guard felt.
Ryan: I never got outside until I left after my sentence.

JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held?
Harley: Yes, but I didn't go and they were once a week.
Ryan: They do. Again I wasn't offered these cause I was in holding during these times.
