Interview with Harley and Ryan

JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Harley: Yes you had phones that you could talk on in all the cells.
Ryan: Nope. I was never given an access code they promised on booking.

JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Harley: Collect calls was all you had.
Ryan: no idea

JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Harley: They wouldn't allow calling cards in the cells and you could not buy any.
Ryan: phone cards were not available. They were supposed to give an access number.

JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Harley: They said that they do but I'm not sure.
Ryan: I was told by inmates they do.
