Medications

Interview with Harley and Ryan

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Harley: No you had to make out a paper to get any, that is if the guard would give it to the right person wich was hardly ever.
Ryan: I was supposed to. I had a prescription for an anti-depressant that was supposed to be taken daily. I got my first on 2 days after I got in. Then It depended, I probably missed half the doses I needed.

JM: How did you get your medications?
Harley: Kept asking and asking and asking. then they would get tired of you and give it to you.
Ryan: A nurse would bring them when they felt like it.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Harley: I never saw any of that .
Ryan: I have no idea. Probably they would be sent to the holding cells for a punishment. I did learn that any drug I wanted was available and easy to get while I was there. I don't do drugs so It didn't effect me. I never witnessed any abuse, but I was shown how to hide them If I got some, and how to get them in.
