JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior? Darrin: No i did not because i received time served.
although there is good time offered for good
behavior. good time usually consists of 5 days for
every 30 days sentenced. unless doing a pay or
stay where there is no good time. Jessica: Yes county time you get good time. 1 day for
every 5 days served. Prison does not have good
time.
JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior? Darrin: the most time off for good behavior a person can
get is 60 days for a 12 month sentence. Jessica: Well like I said 1 for 5 but there is also
programs like trustee 1for every 10 on top of
your good time. Then there is cog classes. That
can get you out even earlier. I never was there
long enough for those classes.
JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior? Darrin: covering air vents regardless how cold or hot it
gets, fighting with inmates and/or guards, being
out of your bunk after lights out, putting up
unapproved curtains for privacy, stealing, not
returning to your cell during lock-down times,
covering up with blankets during the day.
yes i did see someone lose good time for covering
up air vents after being put in maxim security for
covering air vents cause they were cold. Jessica: You need not fight. If you work as a trustee and
you steal something. You can lose your days. If
you do something like have contraband sometimes
they take your days. They can even take you out
of your classes.
