Good Behavior

Interview with Ian, Ron and Bodie

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Ian: I had to do straight time.
Ron: I did get what was called 10 for 30 so for every 30 I got 10 days good time.
Bodie: No I did not the first time I was being transferred from other facility and so I was released the day I was sentenced and did get good time. They my probation violation when I got sentenced for tha my judge said no good time so even if the jail said I could get good time the judge said no and thats the final say. you can ask for a review if your doing along stay and see if they will change your sentence . Sometimes you can once again depends on case and judge . The jail can take your good time away at any time.

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Ian: In most cases unless you have too many write ups you get 10 for 30. For every thirty days you serve, you get ten off. So if you go in for six months you're out in four.
Ron: I am not totally sure although I believe the most for weber county is 10 for 30
Bodie: For every thirty days you do you can get 10days off I believe so 3-4 months off a sentence depends on what else is allowed to taken off some classes if completed will take more time off if allowed .

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Ian: There's so many different things to get write up for. A lot of inmates will get written up for cheeking thier pills to sell them later. If you get into a fight you'll get written up. You could get written up for getting too close to the glass. Hording your clothes. Horsing around in line. Taking an extra tray. You name it.
Ron: write ups, fights contraband, cleaning, showering, following the rules basically. no covering the vents
Bodie: Stay out of trouble is the main thing as long as you follow the rules and dnt get any write ups you should be just fine. dnt fight with inmates or guards follow what your suppose to do and you will be just fine. sometimes the judges dnt believe you should get it and there nothing you can do abt that . as well if the jail takes it away from you. its there call if you are allowed it to begin with.
