Interview with Cami, Tombstone, Strawberry, Tonya, Jay, Fred, Alice and Patrick

JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail?
Cami: It is not a place you would want to stay at very long.
Tombstone: Please put money on the books,so he can buy commissary weekly,& not slowly starve;keep too yourself,never " dis " anyone,& never let your guard down,you never know when someone is going to explode..defend yourself if there`s no other choice,but try like hell to avoid it
Strawberry: DONT DO IT MAN....ITS NOT WORTH IT BUT IF U HAVE TO...JUST KEEP TO YOURSELF AND DONT SHARE YA FOOD AND READ READ READ
Tonya: Don't make the same mistake again
Jay: I would tell them to look out for them send them money if they got it but send them letters go see them times get hard in there everybody need somebody on the outside looking out for them
Fred: For them to stay strong and to keep there heads up and there mouths closed. The officers will help them out as long as they don't do anything to get on there bad side
Alice: that because jefferson county is so broke, there isnt sifficient workers, space or food to house an inmate correctly. hopefully anyone should avoid doing any crime to avoid being incarcerated at all
Patrick: keep mouth shut, people want to start trouble at all times. Time goes very very slow, I would not with this on worse enemy. this place is tuff, try not to go

JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them?
Cami: Make sure you have a little money on you for the commissary!
Tombstone: Don`t do anything that will land you inside ,but if you have to go in,keep your mouth shut,show respect to others,& get the hell out of there,as quick as you can...............
Strawberry: WHY WOULD YOU WANNA BE A FUTURE INMATE AFTER ALL THE CRAP THEY DISH TO YA
Tonya: Change your lifestyle
Jay: Go in there do your time and come home dont get caught up with all that bullshit in there because its going to come your way the only thing you can do is be a man and stand your ground dont go trying to make friends
Fred: To go in there and do your time don't let your time do you. It will only be as hard as you make it so don't go in there looking for trouble and your time will not be that bad

Jay: We'll I have been in Jefferson County jail in Alabama I also been to G.K. Fountain level 4 prison J.o. Davis and Loxley work release I told you about all them through the interview
Fred: St. Clair Co. Jail,Shelby Co jail and talladega Co jail
Alice: only tutwiler prison and montgomery womens work release facility
Patrick: none
