JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)? Luis: We couldn't bring in our own clothes.
They provided shirts,
pants, socks, underwear and
uncomfortable sandals. Scott: nothing you were allowed nothing brought in unless
it was a medical item they didnt have
JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you. Luis: The un-sentenced side wore orange
shirts and orange and
white striped pants. The sentenced side
wore white shirts and
white and blue pants. Both sides wore
white underwear and
socks and orange sandals. Scott: you were given a set of clothes a top made of
canvas type material or so called cotton which was
always too big or too small a elastic ban pant
that wee always too tight or too long a white t
shirt that was grey and a pair of boxer underwear
and the top and pants were orange and the socks
were orange
JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned? Luis: We had no choice in what clothing we
got. Some of the
inmates on the sentenced side that had
been there a while got
more comfortable blue shoes. Scott: yes you had red which was violent or segragation
housing you had orange for general population and
you had blue for trustees
JM: Was the clothing different between men and women? Luis: Women had the orange shirts and orange
and white pants. Scott: only in that they had bras and panties
