Visitor Policy

Interview with Luis and Scott

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Luis: We got visitors twice a week I believe. It went depending on your last name of what days you got visits.
Scott: i believe you cold get visitors three days a week from like 1 to 4

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Luis: Visitors had to show up thirty minutes early to be able to visit. They denied my grandma to see me because she was a few minutes shy of being thirty minutes early.
Scott: it all depended on whether or not it was a holiday and there was a lot of people waiting but most of the time no because it was all video visiting

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Luis: The visitors had to wait in a room for the inmates to come out. There was a big plastic window to see each other through and there were phones to communicate to each other that were usually broken. We had to sit on uncomfortable metal stools bolted to the ground.
Scott: i am not sure i can fill 50 words on visiting but i will tell you what it was and that is it was a phone and a camera and a monitor and you sat at the monitor with little or no privacy and talked to whoever it was that came to visit for approxamitly 2o minutes and then the picture went blank and you were done
