Visitor Policy

Interview with Erik and Clayton

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Erik: Twice a week for half hour.
Clayton: Fri, Sat and Sun. I think workers got extra visits during the week. I think the most I had in one week was five visits.

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Erik: No, not really. It's a small jail that only holds 275 I think.
Clayton: It is first come first serve.

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Erik: They are behind glass, pretty uncomfortable. The stools that you sit on that are embedded in concrete. The guards can see everything. You are being videotaped during the visit.
Clayton: A room with tables, during the summer you could have a little space outdoors. In higher security they had glass between them. There were vending machines in the visiting rooms.
