Medications

Interview with Darryl, Ralph and Cheryl

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Darryl: That was real hard in Boulder. It took a long time to get something done.
Ralph: no
Cheryl: No the jail has a list of allowed medications and change you med to meet the list and it takes months to see the doctor so you will go with out your medication untill a doctor can see you

JM: How did you get your medications?
Darryl: You had to make a doctor appointment, go see the doctor and the nurse would bring around a cart with meds you need.
Ralph: you only get them if you are "good."
Cheryl: you would be perscribed them by the doctor and than twice a day a nurse would come with the med cart and call out each inmate 1 by 1 to take their meds

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Darryl: Maybe they would give you 23 hour lockdown or something like that. They would watch you carefully when you took your meds.
Ralph: I saw several drugs being summgled in, but the guards never caught anyone doing them.
Cheryl: Im not sure what would happen yes people do cheek their meds and trade them but I dont know anyone who got caught
