JM: Did you have regular access to telephones? Ron: YES I USED THE TELEPHONES QUITE A BIT AS, YOU
SEE WITH CORRUPT POLICE IT IS BEST TO CALL A LOT
SO SOMEONE KNOWS THEY DID NOT KILL YOU!!! mike: yes from 9 am-10 pm Brian: You, I was able to make phone calls.
JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls? Ron: THE HIGHEST RATES THERE ARE!! I WASTED OVER 200
DOLLARS IN PHONE CALLS WHILE IN THERE mike: on average it is $2.90 per call Brian: The calls prices were/are ridiculous. They charge
an amount just to set-up the account. The calls
are then $2.25 and up depending on where you call,
and the time of day you call. I think nightly
calls were cheaper. Weekly an inmate could spend
$50 per week on calls. Or more...because the time
didn't seem long, or sometime the call would hang
up before the time ran out.
JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out? Ron: NO AS I WAS NOT IN THERE LONG ENOUGH TO BE
ALLOWED A CARD OR I DID NOT WANT ANTHER A
CARD!!! mike: only if you are calling a cell phone house
phones go collect. Brian: I didn't purchase a phone card. My family who i
called were the ones to accept the calls using a
credit or debit card. There are also places a
person on the outside can purchase and apply to
their cell phone.
JM: Did the jail screen your calls? Ron: I AM NOT SURE WHETHER THEY DID OR NOT mike: yes Brian: They say the calls were screened, but I'm not for
sure. I wasn't ever talking about anything to
incriminate myself.
