JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time? Bruce: church, na, aa, and the rec yard to play
basketball on the court. the facility had a law
libarary and it was pretty laid back other than
that. the work dorm was the best, and all the
people in there ate very good, thats how it has
always been. busy Cherry: We were allowed an hour on the PEAR yard where you
can walk in a circle on the concrete or you can
play basketball or volleyball. Depending on how
many people actually wanted to engage in a sport,
and that the officer in charge would get you the
equipment to play. We also had TV, and books. Damien: we had reck but that only happen three times a week
and that was if u were lucky or cards everyone plays
cards it get boareing or board games or u could sit
one ur bounk and read all day oh just hang out with
a buddy if u got one Derrick: Depends on what pod u are on if ur on reg pod morgen realy u
get to go outside if ur lucky 2x a week if ur on the work pod u
can go outside all u want but all they have is a basketball hoop
they don't offer anything else besides tv dominoes and cards
JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details. Bruce: yes we watch tv almost everyday not to mention
all the christian ministries that brought in
movies for us to watch. we even heard music in
church sometimes so we did alot. we was also
entertain by the officer and the many staff
members who walked around acting crazy but

was there anything I wanted to read available but
other inmates had cards they were willing to share

a problem being able to do anything out there.

the grater number but we had access to the cards and
dominoes I u were liked and not disliked if u were disliked I
might as well stay sitting in ur cell and read if ican get a book
JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail? Bruce: yes becasuse the food was nasty plus you didnt
eat enough, the trays were so small and the food

is very fattening even though it's not much
JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise? Bruce: everyday for one hour we played basketball, some
people worked but played aroung on the coourt.

lucky and it was only basketball or walk around or
workout or sit Derrick: 2x a week normally for a normal in mate and all u could do is
walk or play basketball if they allowed u to play inmates chose
that to
JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held? Bruce: yes, and they were great and they were held
every sunday. and sometimes even during the week
we were having good services Cherry: They did and a church member would physically come
in to the housing area and preach. Noone ever left
the housing area unless they were being moved for

bible if u asked for one by the pastor
