JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time? Randy: In GP hell no. We were on rack down the whole time. It was
a rolling rackdown day whatever that is. My cellee and I just
talked. He was making "toilet wine" aka hooch so I guess he
was pretty entertained. In WR u control the tv and there's lots
of books and magazines to read. There's also puzzles and
tables for them and lots of space to exercise. I played spades
and gambled. Will: None. Cynthia: nothing really.there was a tv in the dayroom and
a few books we could choose from to read but
that was it.once a week (maybe) they would let
us go outside for rec.Which is a small square
bricked in area outside that is open on the top
with a chain link fence over it.its basically a
concrete box that you can just get some fresh air
in.they would give us a volley ball sometimes to
play with.we'd be out for an hour or less
JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details. Randy: In WR yes whenever u want. They even get the post and
USA today daily. In GP I hear it depends in the block. Will: The television was unable to be changed as I
recall, but I was uninterested in it anyway so I
am not sure. There was plenty of table space for
card games but if you did not know people you
were unlikely to be asked to join a game.
JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail? Randy: Cardio was kinda hard to do. Will: Yes. Cynthia: no I personally didn't.but a lot of other people
do.just because there's nothing you can do to
work out really besides walking back and forth in
the dayroom (which is what some of the girls did
for exercise).
JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise? Randy: Never. U only go outside if ur in work release and if so u get
12 hours/6 days/wk if ur lawyer is good. Will: I was never allowed to go outside. Cynthia: once a week (maybe) they would let us go
outside for rec.Which is a small square bricked in
area outside that is open on the top with a chain
link fence over it.its basically a concrete box that
you can just get some fresh air in.they would

JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held? Randy: Supposedly but I hear it almost never happens. Will: They did offer church services in the form of a
pastor entering the unit while the majority of
inmates who chose not to attend remained locked
in their cells. Cynthia: yes.they had volunteers that would come on
sunday and preach from 1pm-2pm.they came
into the dayroom and we would sit at the tables
and listen to them.although the last 2 weeks I
was there no one came so we were just locked in
out cells for that time.
