Interview with Randy, Will and Cynthia

JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Randy: In D block they were pretty unreliable. In work release u can call whenever u want. It's collect calls and expensive.
Will: Yes.
Cynthia: Yes

JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Randy: Dunno. I didn't use them. I hear it's crazy though.
Will: I would estimate the charger per average call to be anout 3 to 4 dollars. So the cost per inmate would depend on call volume.
Cynthia: it was $2 to connect and .35 a minute after calls could only last for 15min and then i9t disconnected and you'd have to call back.i'd say atleast $20 a week

JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Randy: No.
Will: No.
Cynthia: no

JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Randy: They say they do.
Will: They were recorded and you were unable to call any phone incapable of recieving a collect call.
Cynthia: they're recorded
