JM: How many different blocks were there? Christian: I was on the 4th floor, and there was 4a, 4b, 4c
and 4d. On the other end were areas for the
girls. There were 8 floors. Claire: well you have 4 pods on each floor, and there are
8 floors. All the pods have about 60-80 inmates
in them. The blocks are divided by crime,
treatment, or work detail.
JM: Did they have names? If so, what were they? Christian: They were named by floor number and then by letter
for each section on the floors. Claire: A-pod, B-Pod, C-pod, and D-pod, but they have
different floors for the different inmates.
JM: Which types of inmates were housed in the different blocks? Christian: Women were housed in C and D of the 4th floor.
8th floor was where you were put when you first
got there. 6th floor had some of the worst
inmates. 8th floor has the hole and the worst of
the worst. Those were the inmates that only came
out 1 hour a day. Claire: Women were all together. But men are a little
different. Kitchen workers are together,
Treatment inmates are together and then the guys
with a lesser crime are also put into different
pods.
JM: What do you remember being the nicest and worst parts about the different blocks? Christian: 4 was a workers pod, and it was the best place to
live because you had a job. Claire: The nicest part about the blocks is being able to
eventually get your own cell. You may not get to
pick your roommates, but you do get to sign up
for a single cell. The best part about having
your own cell is the fact that you don't have to
compromise on small things.
