JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)? Karl: Orange jumpsuit, two piece almost like scrubs.
You could have socks, undershirt, thermal top
(sold in the canteen). If you had no money on
your books you could order a care package which
include shoes, socks, boxer shorts and a t-
shirt. You get issued the flip flops right away
but the shoes you could buy were velcro
sneakers. Christine: You could bring in underwear( not thongs or colorful panties )
No bra with an underwire . Any kind of socks were okay Drew: underwear, white socks and white sleavless
shirt. Thats all you where allowed to bring in
JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you. Karl: See above. Christine: The uniform was just orange pants and an orange shirt . Tge
shirt had MDC on the back . All two pieces or clothing were
changed out twice a week . Drew: Orange suit shirt looked like nurse clothing and
pants where all orange usually baggy. Back of
shirt would say MDC Jail inmate in black ink
JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned? Karl: T-shirts, boxers and socks because they
constantly have the air going in there. I
always wore 2 tshirt and 2 pairs of socks to
stay warm. Christine: Ya , usually the large uniformed we're the first to go . Drew: no not really just new ones that where not as
worn out
JM: Was the clothing different between men and women? Karl: They had the same jumpsuits. I don't know what
they can buy from the canteen as far as
underwear, etc. Christine: No , we all wore the same thing . Drew: no same both male and female
