Interview with CC, Kurt, Kimberly, Karen, John, Ashley and Michelle

JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time?
CC: none
Kurt: Every floor had an indoor basketball court indoors. Most pods had dominoes, chess. You could play cards but you would have to provide your own deck. There was one TV that was covered by plastic screen and volume wasn't loud. Basically, you couldn't see it or hear it and there were like two or three channels.
Kimberly: We get to play cards, watch tv. They take you to gym to twice a week to play basketball or volleyball.
Karen: work, tv, books, church, na-aa
John: None you can go to rec or church no School nothing fundamental just cards talking and watching tv. The county was The worst part of being locked up due to lack of activity. Jail should be harsh and boring but The idle time led to mischih for most inmates lol
Ashley: I attended AA meetings , and church that was about all that I can remember other than that there were no other activities to do we were in our cell all day and that was not fun , watching movies or playing cards no other activities or anything to do

CC: no entertainment you can buy cards
Kurt: rec was about two or three times a week, tv was As far as the TV was concerned we watched whatever channel the CO put it on. Could be a vote or could be just what they turned on. They were in control of the remote.
Kimberly: Usually it's people who have been in there the longest who get control of the TV. Either that or the most aggresive. I would never be able to watch what I wanted. Trustees are given the remote but like I said, usually those inmates who were there longer are in control.
Karen: reg access
John: One tv was in unit of over fifty inmates certain rules like sports rule mostly everyone watched The same thing but scattered incidents did occur due to mis understandings. Tv was The only eentertainment no radio so wr had to get along with that one item i never had any trouble
Ashley: no the TV was available only when ever the guard let us watch TV there was no competition for the TV whatever was on tv that's what we watched and that was it no big deal the tv was very limited most of the time we were in our cells
Michelle: No not at all because it wasn't no regular entertainment but when it was it would have to be like the first 10 or 15 people who signed up but everybody usually slept time away so wasn't no big comotuon over it at all it was only church and meetings
