Interview with CC, Kurt, Kimberly, Karen, John, Ashley and Michelle
JM: How often could you receive visitors? CC: 1x a week Kurt: They had vistors on a regimented schedule based
on the letter of your last name. You could only
get visits twice a week for half an hour. Kimberly: You could have visitors 3 days a week for around
1/2 but those vistors had to be approved 48 hours
in advanced. Karen: 2times per week John: Three times a week if i recall ir went
by The letter in your last name
dor visiring days Ashley: I don't know because I never had any visitors
come to see me at all Michelle: I belivee it was two times a week it was for
like 15 minutes through a glass window
JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you? CC: no visits Kurt: Very lengthy. For a half hour visit there could
be a two hour check in. Kimberly: It could take up to 45 minutes to see you. Before
that they have to make sure the person isn't on
probation or had any criminal charges against
them. Karen: no John: I dont recall any complaints about
waiting just rudness of officers
treating visirors like inmates. I never
ebn visited from The free
worldso I really dont know Ashley: never had a visitor I didn't have anyone come and
visit me because I had no family here so I would
not know about that Michelle: I believe so they had to stand in line check in
then another line to lock their stuff up then go
through a metal detector and it wasn't even a
face to face through glass
JM: What was the visiting environment like? CC: dont know Kurt: Windows with telephones on each side. Kimberly: I was sitting on side of window and the vistor
would be on the other side. We would talk on a
phone that you could barely hear. It was also
really dirty. Karen: ok no contact John: Cool i guess hard questoon ro answer
because you want to be as cliae to
family as possible you sont tend to
look around at The environment. Every
visit was montered on large room full
of guards inmates and visitors no lol
lolprivacy so i guess The environment
was horrible Ashley: never had any visit, I heard it was a very slow
process and the visits were very short and brief
not long enough the guards were watching all the
time sometimes visits would be cut short and end
the visit or the visitor would not be allowed to
visit or see the inmate Michelle: It was not that clean at all you had two
people in a one man cell so the second
person was on a thin matress on the cement
floor and when it was over crowded people
were in the rec room on a thin matress on
the floor no cell it was crazy
