Meals

Interview with Susan

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Susan: They feed you 3 meals a day. Don't try to eat everything though, it is based on a 2500 calorie diet.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Susan: The food is pretty bad. Mostly because the girls who are making it just don't care that much. They are cooking thier own meals separately. If you have tobe in medium for any extended period of time...get a job in the kitchen. Everything is bland and processed. They steamed a lot of food in a kettle, which made for very soggy food.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Susan: Favorite meals were, chicken stir fry, frech fries (they were hand cut) tuna, mac and cheese Least favorite were bologna, turkey ham, mexicali pasta

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Susan: They did not offer us snacks outside of meals. The commissary was very expensive and did not offer many healthy choices. What they did have healthy was quite expensive. For example, a candybar was over $1.10. Something you could buy for 45 cents at the store.
