Medications

Interview with Susan

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Susan: No, this was a major issue in there. The nusing staff quite frequently would run out of medications. Be sure to have active perscriptions with a pharmacy before going in.

JM: How did you get your medications?
Susan: They had what they called "med line" three times a day. Morning, afternoon and nighttime. Some meds youcould be given as KOP, which meant Keep on person but not any sort of antidepressant or narcotic.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Susan: Any sort of misuse of any medication, even lotions, could be suject to segregation. I did see somebody go to seg for giving someone a tylenol.
