Medications

Interview with Ricardo, Lori, Carlos, Kirk, Tyler, Enrique and Anna

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Ricardo: Yes I did.
Lori: yes...too large in quantity. would have slept for days if I took all of the horse pills.
Carlos: Yes
Kirk: If they were prescribed yes but you cannot buy things like Tylenol
Tyler: not all the time sometimes they where late for respond
Enrique: If it was necessary they would come by everyday for you meds.
Anna: They will allow you to see the doctor for a 8 dollar fee and 5 for prescriptions.

JM: How did you get your medications?
Ricardo: I went to see the doctor, fairly quick 2-3 days.
Lori: from a person who had our meds...they person was assigned to assure that their me;they do not need the sandwoj
Carlos: They come a couple times a day and personally hand them and watch you take them
Kirk: A nurse comes twice a day with the pill cart and administers the medications that is also you opportunity to submit a sick hall slip
Tyler: the nurse would come by every 4 to 6 hours and give you medication if you needed it , or if you had questions
Enrique: A nurse escorted by two guards would come by check your wrist band and give you the meds in a small cup also watched to see if you swallowed it.
Anna: There would a be a nurse who would administer the drugs twice or sometimes three times a day if needed.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Ricardo: I am not sure although there is plenty of illegal drug use going on.
Lori: none that I know of....no I did not witness any of this. separation form the others was the norm...I do not recall other forms of punishment. Being there was enough
Carlos: I never saw but imagine more time added to sentence
Kirk: 15 days in disciplinary segregation loss of all of your commisarry until you are released back In to population yes I saw it people will keep their pills to snort
Tyler: no I never witnessed anything for abuse on drugs but only the ones that would you them would get a special pill to relax them
Enrique: You would be sent to lock down and then when you came out you were transferred to another tank. I did witness drug use that was smuggled in but never the punishments as the guards never found the drugs.
Anna: If you were caught trading off your medication or attempting to sell them then you would be put in lockdown.
