Meals

Interview with Darlene, Ryan and Janis

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Darlene: Three terrible meal's per day. A sac of dissapointment at 6 am, a loaded lunch of carb's at 11:45 am and even more carb's for dinner at 4:45
Ryan: 3
Janis: 3

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Darlene: On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best 1 being worst, it was a -10! Just horrible, some day's I would'nt eat at all.
Ryan: Not very good at all.
Janis: A 3 out of ten. The food was the worst I have ever had, and it was never enough, we were always hungry.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Darlene: Yes. My favorite meal's were the "chicken patty" mean and the "taco's". My least favorite was the "tuna fish"(we all called it cat food) sandwich's with a roll for the bread, and the mystery meat "meat loaf"(we all called it a break pad because it is shaped like a break pad and tasted like shit!).
Ryan: The treats that came with the meals were pretty good, everything else just tasted aweful.
Janis: No.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Darlene: Not provided for free from the jail. Every tuesday commissary comes in and you have a variety of things like chips, candy, cookies, crackers etc. you can purchase. Or your loved one's can order you icare packs on the icare website stuff like coffee packs, chip packs, chocolate lovers packs stuff like that that also gets delivered tuesdays.
Ryan: No.
Janis: No snacks. Not sure about commissary.
