Closing Advice

Interview with Nancy and Bryce

JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail?
Nancy: Be sure to bring money to be put on your books upon intake so you can at least make calls to the outside to give loved-ones instructions on visits, canteen&mail restrictions.
Bryce: The jail for the most part is a safe place regardless the security level the inmate is in. The jail is well staffed. But the amount of food given is small. Putting money on their books for commissary would truly make them a lot happier with their experience.

JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them?
Nancy: Have all purchases (food, hygiene, phone calls)purchased online by friends & family. Detention center will take money on your books for booking fees ($30) and medical visits ($5.00-nurse&$10.00 for psychiatrist).
Bryce: Too not count the days until your out. Play games or read books, to just relax and time will go by a lot faster. Don't sleep during the day, because you'll be up all night and it goes by extremely slow starring at a white wall.

JM: Please list any other jail or rehab facilities you have been to.
Nancy: Arapahoe County Jail; Aurora City Jail; Englewood City Jail; Littleton City Jail; Denver City Jail (old & new); Rio Blanco County Jail; Vail City Jail
Bryce: I went to the Denver Rescue Missions New Life Program. The Crossing Rehab Facility.
