JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)? Nancy: None.All inmates wear county-issued uniforms,
underwear, sports-bras, sock,& flip-flop like
shoes. Sizes-are-general for all-male/female inmates. Bryce: You were allowed to keep your underwear, and if you
came in with an all plain white t shirt you were
allowed to keep it as well.
JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you. Nancy: Inmates classified by
color.(orange-felony;blue-misdemeanors¬-yet-classfied;white-
kitchen;yellow-trustees;red-Ad-Seg;green-jail
industries;tan-work-release inmates).Each uniform
included jersey-type shirt&elastic-waist pants
w/Douglas-County-Detention-Center(DCDC)printed on
each.1-White t-shirt,2-white sports-bras,5-white
underwear,2/pairs white socks&flip-flops usually
too big. Uniforms changed-out weekly. Bryce: I was given a yellow top that had DCSO Inmate on the
back, a yellow pair of pants that had DCSO Inmate
down the pant leg, and pink socks.
JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned? Nancy: T-shirts w/out arm-pit stains,underwear w/out
stains in them,shoes close-to-your shoe-size. Bryce: Large Tops, and Pants were always on the high demand
and hard to get if that was your size.
JM: Was the clothing different between men and women? Nancy: women receive sports-bras&panties;men receive
male-underwear. Bryce: Yes, all the coloring was different.
