JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time? Ron: Two TVs with satilite, cards, board games, dip
bar, pull up bar, handball court, library,
church, bible study, different self improvement
classes. JM: There are two TVs. Cards, games, handball and
basketball. Many people exercise, and a good
majority of them spend time writing or drawing. Rick: tv cards books board games my block we all
played board games at night and one hr out side
time to play basket ball or hand ball
JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details. Ron: There was alot of disagreements over what was on
the tv. Other than that there were no other
problems with anything else. JM: You can get what you want. Normally there is a TV
for the Spanish speaking inmates and one for
everyone else, there is some disagreement on
channels but in the end it's not too bad. Julianne: they were nice people who were arrested Rick: the tv
JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail? Ron: No, while in there you have to find ways to pass
time and when you have other guys to workout
with it gives you more motive. JM: No. I rapidly lost weight, and managed to keep in
decent shape. I was ill often due to the weight
loss. Julianne: everyone was great who was arrested the
correction officers were mean and looked for
ways to make a person want to fight. they were
mockers. and did very rotten things to inmates
one boy was very sick he was under a dr. keep
and they abused him badly. i was eye wittness to
it. Rick: i was sick most of the time i went in with draw
from my pain meds not haven them but after they
have a few things to try to keep you in shape
but you can do stuff the old fasition way to
keep in shape good
JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise? Ron: once a day for an hour. JM: I hour a day. Julianne: only when they took you to court Rick: one hour out side basket ball or hand ball
JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held? Ron: Yes, They were held on Sunday morning,I enjoyed
the services, they were very good and they spoke
so we could understand, and did not judge. JM: They did. Often the pastor would come to the pods,
and on Sundays and Wednesdays you could go to
services in the library. Julianne: no Rick: i did not know
