Visitor Policy

Interview with Ron, JM, Julianne and Rick

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Ron: Once a week for 2 hours, if the monitors were not broken, if they were down it became diffuclt to get an appointment. And it was all over a computer monitor and telephone. There was 4 in the dorm and 23 in the visitors room.
JM: Once a week for two hours. Visitation started on Thursday and went through Sunday.
Julianne: i didnt
Rick: i dont know that amount but i got two a week

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Ron: Not as long as they only brought what they were suppose to, and had everything out and ready.
JM: Not too long. They had to sign up for a spot before hand, and mostly had to sign in showing an ID.
Julianne: yes
Rick: no it was fast

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Ron: Sometimes loud, depending on how busy they were. And sometimes just a pain because you would have to jump from monitor to monitor to figure out which one would work.
JM: It's done over video monitor that is being recorded. The low security pod is given personal visits which are far nicer.
Julianne: never made it that far
Rick: siting in a room with a phone to talk to your visiting person with glass to see out at each other no way to tuch them hold them or kiss them they realy should do more with that the environment for that realy sucks bad should be one on one time for you and that person to hold and be there for each other
