Interview with Tammy, Tiffany, Sarah, Rachel and Betty
JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail? Tammy: just be there for them, and visits, letters and
phone calls always make your time go quicker and
easier. Tiffany: Put some money on the phone so they can call home. If thier
family or loved on is on drugs- jail is most often the best place
for them. Jail and my charges changed my life. For the better.
It is a very humbling experience. Although not a place you
want to go, it is amazing how easily and more so quickly you
adapt. Write your family and encourage them during thier
incarceration. People dont change. Peoples perceptions
change. And that in turn changes them. God Willing! Sarah: Put money in their account. The food is nasty
and the only way to survive is with commissary
and sleep . 75 dollars will be okay . when you
put money in the account they take off 25 for
the wristband and then 3 dollars a day . Rachel: to eat alot before they go in,be preparted to
get no sleep and the girls have no respect for
each other after it comes a certain hr at night
i dont think its fair Betty: i would tell them to just try to stay out of
trouble or dont do anything that would end you
up going there because it was not a clean or
nice place to be in
JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them? Tammy: once you get out - stay out of trouble so you dont
go back. and while in there, dont get attitudes
towards other inmates or officers cause your the one
that will suffer Tiffany: Take that time to find and better yourself. They will soon find
out whom truley loves them. Jail has a way of making you
see your life more clearly. Shows you what is important- more
importantly ; what isn't. Find a higher power and lean on
Him. This too shall pass. And it is true that what does not kill
you only makes you stronger. Stay to yourself and do your
own time. Sarah: If somebody I know was going to be serving time
in the palm beach county jail im pretty sure
they would not comite the crime because the jail
is not that great and the food sucks. Rachel: be on you best behavior, dont let other inmates
get to you, dont listen to what othet people that
to say and just sick to yourself and do your
time and go home Betty: for them to stick to theirself and just listen
to the officers because the officers treat you
like you are nothing when we are all human and
everybody makes mistakes even if you are a
police officer
JM: Please list any other jail or rehab facilities you have been to. Tammy: Broward County Detention ctr - Ft Lauderdale, FL
BARC - Broward Addiction Recovery Center, ft
lauderdale, FL
Baltimore County Detention ctr - Baltimore, MD Tiffany: Never been any other jail or rehab. Sarah: None. Rachel: none just gun club Betty: i have not been to any other jails that was my
first and last time being arrested
