Interview with Tammy, Tiffany, Sarah, Rachel and Betty

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Tammy: 3 - breakfast, lunch and dinner
Tiffany: 3. Breakfast round 4:30 . Lunch @10:30 and dinner @ 4:00
Sarah: You get three meals per day and if your pregnant you get a extra brown bag .
Rachel: i was there 2 days and received 2 bags of food
Betty: i came early in the morning so i did not get a meal until the next day

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Tammy: some was good, and some was like mystery meat. I worked in kitchen so i knew how food was prepared and its just like a restaurant - big ovens and cooked by inmates.
Tiffany: God awfull. What the pigs wouldnt eat. Going cheap on inmate food is apparently the rule. I found a stone in my green beans. No meat at all . Only fake processed meat. Chicken on the bone used to be served once a week but not any more. Budget cuts
Sarah: It is nasty . There is no salt or pepper and I think everything is nasty because its made in a bulk of like 500 lbs to feed every inmate . The only good thing is the pudding . In the pregnant bag you get cookies and they are very good and taste like real food.
Rachel: out of 1-10 the sandwich was a 0..the drink was a 5 i wish there was a couple more of then in the bag and the cookies were pretty good,i just wish people could eat a half way normal mean like cereal and a thing of milk something like that
Betty: i would rate it a 2 the sandwichs were disgusting the only thing i could eat was the cookies the sandwich was the same excact type of meat everytime and the food i got after was some type of hotdog and beans mashed together the drink was tea and in a bag it was some type of juice

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Tammy: favorite was on fridays - CHICKEN!!! Lunch was the worst - something they called lunchmeat but who knows what it was.
Tiffany: Yes the APP. All porpose patty. It can be a hamburer- a salsbury steak- a breakfast patty- chopped and used in goulash. Otherwise breakfast although served round 4:30 am is a close secound. Hey you cant mess up breakfast!
Sarah: Least favorite would be breakfast , plain nasty grits no salt no pepper no butter. and dry stale bread at every meal.
Rachel: my favorite means are fried chicken, mashed potatos, mac & cheese, pork chops, green beans, chicken noodle soup..i hate things like alfredo, meatloaf,or salds leftovers and
Betty: my least favorite was the bags of food but the main meals were just as worst the only thing i liked was the cookies

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Tammy: you are able to order snacks from commissary. they had candy, chips, coffee, soups,
Tiffany: You can order it off commisarry. And wait 5 days to recieve it. Pretty inflated prices on what is available. Cup o noodle Soups are popular. Hot water is available. And also inmates save soup cups to be used at meals (then u have a cup that is yours to refill and take to your cell.)
Sarah: No snacks were offered and commissary has ramen noodles on it and snickers. Salt and pepper cost about a dollar for ten packets . The snickers are about 2.50 . Things in jail are always expensive.
Rachel: i did not get to get any commissary but in the bag of food i did receive i got those cookies and those were pretty good, the strawberry ones were the best, but once again i did not to get to pick out any food
Betty: there were no other snacks or any type of food or drinks provided to me i did not receive commissary because i was not in there that long but if i was in there long u could order food if u have money in your account
