JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't. Scott: i didnt find it hard at all to get along with
other inmates i knew from previous jail time to
just mind my business stay calm an find me
something to stay bussie Gary: NO I DID NOT. I DID NOT KNOW ANYONE IN MONTGOMERY
COUNTY. I ALWAYS KEEP TO MYSELF IN JAIL AND HAVE
VERY FEW WORDS WHICH USUALLY KEEP ME UNNOTICED AND
PRIVATE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Armando: I didn't find it difficult at all to get along with
others due to the fact that this was not my first
time being incarcerated. I pretty much stayed to
myself.
JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates? Scott: you have to stay focus on your self, read work
out attend the different jail programs sometime
you even have to talk with them an relate to
whatever they going thru
most important stay humble try to smile fit in
watch tv dont cheat on card games and be fair to
everyone an do your best to stand up for yourself Gary: I AM A BIG 400 POUND GUY. I DONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS
IN JAIL ANDI KNOW HOW TO FIGHT SO PEOPLE USUALLY
TEND TO KEEP THERE BAD ATTITUDES TO THEIRSELVES
WHEN IT COMES TO ME. ALSO AT THE TIME I WAS TRYING
TO LOSE WEIGHT SINCE I WAS INACTIVE AND I GAVE IT
TO THE OTHER INMATES WHICH KEPT ME IN GOOD
STANDARDS WITH OTHER INMATES. Armando: I stayed to myself. I talked to other inmates,
played games, sports and recreation. I also tried
to get into as many activities that the jail
offered. I wasn't going to portray myself as a weak
individual but I also wanted to show other inmates
that I was there to do my time.
JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change? Scott: you are not allowed to pick your cellmate
the jail will make that decision and you have to
accept that
your cellmate can change daily
different inmates have differnt release dates
daily Gary: AT THE SEVEN LOCKS FACILITY, YOU COULD BE WITH A
CELLMATE FOR A DAY OR 7 DAYS, SO YOU NEVER KNEW
WHO WAS GOING TO BE YOUR CELLMATES. SOME NIGHTS I
FIND MYSELF BEING IN THE CELL ALONE. IN CLARKSBURG
I HAD THE SAME CELLMATE AFTER THEY FIGURED OUT I
NEEDED A BOTTOM BUNK SO I WAS KIND OF IN CONTROL
OF CELL WHEN I GOT THE BOTTOM BUNK. Armando: I didn't have a chance to choose a cellmate. I
don't know of any jail that lets you choose your
cellmate. Depending on the length of your sentence,
that will dictate how often you change cellmates. My
cellmate changed one time because he was released
about 40 days before me.
