Interview with Scott, Gary and Armando

JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Scott: ther is access to the telephone but you have to have money in your account to access the phones
Gary: WE ONLY HAD ACCESS TO PHONES ONE HOUR A DAY IF YOU COULD BEAT SOMEONE TO THEM. YOU COULD ONLY MAKE COLLECT CALLS.
Armando: Yes, I had regular access to phones.

JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Scott: the average call if calling localy can range from 65 cents to 1 dollare 80 cents an up depends on where you are calling to
Gary: I THINK YOU HAD TO HAVE MONEY IN YOUR ACCOUNT OR MAKE COLLECT CALLS.BUT THE CALLS HAD PRERECORDED MESSAGES NOTIFYING THE RECEIVER OF THE FACILITY YOU WERE CALLING FROM.
Armando: Back then, the charge was .85 per minute and the calls lasted twenty two minutes. Average person probably spend about $25 per week on phone calls

JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Scott: yes you have to buy phones cards to call out or money sent to you can be used
Gary: NO YOU HAD TO HAVE MONEY IN AN ACCOUNT USED JUST FOR THE PHONE.
Armando: No phone cards were needed to call out.

JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Scott: the jail screens everbody calls
Gary: YES THEY MONITORED YOUR CALLS I BELIEVE IT WAS RANDOM
Armando: I believe so. There was a signed posted STATING that all call will be recorded.
