Interview with Tim, Adrian, Maria, Ashley, Lindsay, Victor, Deborah and Katherine

JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Tim: Stayed in same street clothes for most of stay
Adrian: blue pants and shirt sports bra white underwear and orange socks and shower shoes
Maria: No clothes other than those provided are allowed. This is unfair because some inmates requested a sweater or light jacket and they were turned down.
Ashley: YOU COULDNT HAVE ANYONES CLOTHES BUT CLARK COUNTIES CLOTHES.YOU COULDNT HAVE ANYTHING YOU CAME IN WITH AND A PERSON COULDNT LEAVE YOU CLOTHING EITHER
Lindsay: You don't bring in your own clothes, they supply you with their own. They would also change your clothes and linens every Friday, which was nice.
Victor: NONE, all of the clothing worn in jail is provided by the jail, no outside clothing allowed.
Deborah: None of the inmates are allowed to bring in any personal belongings. Every thing you wore belong to Clark County Detention Center.
Katherine: NO YOU CAN NOT BRING IN ANY CLOTHES THEY MAKE YOU STRIP DOWN AND CHANGE INTO THERE CLOTHES. IT IS ALL CCDC CLOTHES YOU GET 2 SPORTS BRAS, 2 UNDERWARE, 2 SOCKS 2 UNDER SHIRTS 2 PANTS AND 2 SHIRTS

JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Adrian: yes same as above
Maria: I was given a sports bra and regular panties, a pair of pants and a top very similar to hospital scrubs. I was also given a super large gray t-shirt to sleep in.
Ashley: WE WORE DARK BLUE BOTTOMS AND A DARK BLUE LIKE SCRUB TOP.WE ALSO GOT WHITE UNDERWEAR AND WHITE TRAINING BRAS.OUR SOCKS WERE BRIGHT ORANGE AND SO WERE THE SANDALS WE HAD TO WEAR
Lindsay: They gave you a uniform, which looked liked scrubs. The shirt and pants were comfortable and were a dark blue. On the front leg and the back of the shirt said, "CCSD." They gave you white panties and a white sports bra with orange socks and sandals that hardly fit.
Victor: It was a one piece jump suit, orange in color, there were 'manties' issued (combine man with panties) that were white or stained various colors and made out of cotton fish net.
Deborah: You were issued two set of scrubs in navy blue, two under wears, two bra's and two pairs of socks. If you were a worker anywhere in the facility your scrubs were orange.
Katherine: WELL THE UNIFORMS WERE BAD REALLY WORN OUT THE UNDERWARE WAS USALLY STRECHED OUT, IT WAS STAINED. THE UNIFORMS THEMSELFS WERE FADED THEY HAD A BAD SMELL TO THEM.

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Adrian: clean under garments
Maria: I would recommend that someone look at the additional clothing items they are given when they first arrive and make sure they are the correct size. You may be wearing a size large but your extra set of clothes may be a size small.
Ashley: YES CLOTHING THAT WASNT RIPPED OR STAINED LIKE THE UNDERWEAR
Lindsay: Usually the socks were in high demand, as well as the underwear. Just try to get in line early and get something that fits you and is comfortable. These are your clothes for the next week!
Victor: Socks, you get one pair and one pair only, you can buy some via commissary for $15 per pair.
Deborah: Yes. Underwear because you wanted to make sure you got the right size.
Katherine: IF ANYTHING THE PEOPLE HANDING OUT THE UNIFORMS GOT THE FIRST CHOICE AND THEY WOULD PICK THE NEWER STUFF

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Tim: Don't know
Adrian: no really cant think of it right at this moment wasnt suppost to interact with the men so I didnt
Maria: As far as I could see the clothing was the same for both sexes with the exception of the sports bra for the females
Ashley: YES WE HAD BRAS AND UNDERWEAR THEY JUST HAD BOXERS AS THEIR UNDER GARMENTS BUT THEY WORE THE SAME UNIFORM
Lindsay: It was the same, except for the underwear, I am sure.
Victor: No, I can't be sure about the manties though.
Deborah: I would believe so yes. The underwear only.
Katherine: IAM NOT SURE I THINK THEY HAVE THE BLUES TOO
