JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't. Cesar: I did not find it to hard to get along with
others
there. I mostly kept to myself. Tom: NO I DID NOT. MOST OF THEM SEEMED EASY TO TALK TO
AND GET ALONG WITH. Bruce: i didn't find it hard to get along with the other
inmates, if you mind your own business and dont
start anything most of them are friendly and not
looking for trouble, Jon: I had a lot of friends who were locked up when I
got arrested so I had a solid group of friends who
had my back while I was locked up. I did have
issues with 2 of my cell mates one was due to the
fact that he was trying to take advantage of the
whole floor and then PC'd up. The other issue was
a cellmate who thought he was some gangster and
got pissed when I wouldnt hit him back after he
punched me.
JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates? Cesar: Mostly kept to myself. Most of the problems in
jail are about respect. What other things could
there be i mean really. Tom: WHILE IN THE SPOKANE COUNTY JAIL, ITS PRETTY EASY
TO AVOID FIGHTS, EITHER BY WRITING, READING THE BIBLE
TALKING TO FELLOW INMATES, WHILE I WAS IN I DID
NOT SEE ANY FIGHTS AT 3WEST, MOST KNOW THAT IF THEY DO
NOT CREATE PROBLEMS THEY WILL GO TO GEIGOR. SOME
OF THE OTHER INMATES THAT WHERE AWARE OF ME ASKED
ME TO TALK ABOUT SOME OF THE THINGS I HAD BEEN
WRITING ABOUT MY LIFE. Bruce: i've got a good name on the streets so i didn't
really have to do anything, basic rule is mind your
own business, watch what you say and who you say it
to and dont be stupid, dont get caught up in
someones elses bullshit. just be respectful. if you
show respect then that's what you will get back Jon: I had to learn a new mentality and way of life. I
also had to watch what I said around people and stay
away from other peoples problems. I also had to
teach myself how to keep my calm while stuck in a
tiny cell for 23 hours a day and having to deal with
other people.
JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change? Cesar: Not at all. It jail not a camp out. Tom: I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT QUESTION Bruce: no i have never been able to pick my cell mate in
county jail, you are pretty much stuck with who
ever they put in with you, unless there's trouble
between you then they will separate you so there
wont be a problem Jon: I was supposed to be able to but I had to grievance
the Jail Administration since the officer who was in
charge of the floor I was on did not want to mix
races and told me I that a little white boy like me
could not be around any niggers.
