Interview with Christian, Robert, Terry, Diana, Gina and Cindy
JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)? Christian: socks long johns underwear t shirt all one solid
color and no logos on them Chris: You were not allowed to bring in anything they didn't supply
you with under garments Robert: you were totatally stripped and they checked my
underwear and left me keep them an socks, that's
all Terry: All clothes brought to you had to be brand new in
the original package and white only. Diana: You could bring a long or short sleeve PLAIN white shirt, a bra with
no underwire, underwear, socks and for the men same applies i
think. And of course you would get searched first. Your shoes
would depend on how they were made. Gina: Only the underwear you had on and socks you had on a t shirt
if you we're wearing it when u came in nothing could be
brought in Cindy: you can can keep on what you are wearing when
you come in except if your bra has underwire any
thing else you have to buy
JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you. Christian: we were issued a black and white striped tops and
black and white striped bottoms one size fits
none (and the none is not a type o) and they all
stunk like body sweat Chris: When you prossessed in to the jail you are given a liar of black
and white stripped shirt a and elastic pants any some shower
shoes that's it. Robert: they gave me a sort of canvas feeling shirt and
pants to wear and some sort of flip flops to wear
on my cold feet Terry: There was not set uniform just white colored
clothing. No long sleeve shirts were permitted at
anytime. Everything had to be approved and it
could take days to actually get the clothing.
Diana: It was like a nurses scrub uniform. It was tannish nude colored.
They came from smalls to xxl. We were aloud to order white tshirts
or long johns to wear under them to stay warm. Gina: Most shirts had ink on them or spot on them the pants would
be tore with writing on them they smell like they where Burnett Cindy: it is stiped with white and tan the shirts are v
neck and usually too small and the pants are
like dr scrubs and dont fit you either
JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned? Christian: no we all got the sane thing issued but long
johns where priorty from the outside Chris: Yes clothes that weren't torn or ripped or faded and still had its
elastic band. Robert: I think people liked oversized cloths to wear for
some reason Terry: No but people that would leave would pass their
clothing on to others sock shirts etc. Diana: Just the most popular was the tan for girls and i cant remember if
orange was the mens color or not? But we could order white t
shirts or long sleeve shirts to sleep in or wear under our scrubs. Gina: Ya the size med and big ones they never would send enough Cindy: no every one gets the same outfit and they are
all stretched out
JM: Was the clothing different between men and women? Christian: yes women wore a solid browm/tan uniform Chris: No all the clothing was the same. Robert: ther wasn't any girls where I was Terry: No idea never seen the womens clothing Diana: Yes, women wore tan scrubs, men wore different colors.
Depending if you were on suicide watch or work detail you would
wear different colored scrubs too. Gina: Yes the girls had brown and the men black and white strips Cindy: same type of clothing but different colors
