Interview with Christian, Robert, Terry, Diana, Gina and Cindy
JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications? Christian: med call came twice a day if you were suspose to
takeyour meds with food then you screwed you
would get the meds hours after you ate Chris: No they wanted you to pay for it. Robert: no I have high blood pressure and they ignored me
when I told the guards Terry: The medications were given by the nurse on duty. Diana: If you needed your prescribed medications and they had the
medications at the facility they would make sure you received them
at the right time and the right amount. ANd if you had a head ache
or stomach ache they would do there best to help you out. Gina: No if you had a headache you would have to put a sick call slip
in ahead of time before they came on rounds Cindy: when you got in to the dr
JM: How did you get your medications? Christian: a nurse from nafcare would bring them around the
times on which they came was never consistant and
sometimes the had fucked up attitudes Chris: You had to have a doctorsfrom outside give meds or you paid
fro some items on commissary if you had money. Robert: I didn't get my high blood pressure medicine, I
went without them for a month they totally
ignored me when iasked to get some Terry: The medications were given by the nurse on duty.
And there was not always a nurse on duty only
during certain hours. Diana: We got our medications from a nurse that would bring them
morning, afternoon (for some people) and night and we would
stand in line in alphabetical order and say our first and last name
when it was our turn in line and an officer would watch us swallow
the pills. Gina: A nurse would come around in the morning and then once in
the evening and they would call people out in Theodore of the
day Cindy: a nurse would come around 3 times a day to bring
the meds that you are taking and they watch you
like a hawk
JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this? Christian: they would stop your meds lock you in your cell
for a period of time and sometimes give you dbu
patties to eat Chris: I'm not sure but it think they give you another charge for illegal
possession of any sudstance not approved by the jail. Robert: I didn't see any drugs in there but seen a fight
and they took both of them out of our block Terry: Im not to sure but I bet it would be more added
time to your sentence. No one ever tried to get
away with abusing the meds. Diana: You would get lock down and an extra charge to your record that
is a felony for bringing drugs into a jail. I never witnessed it
though. Gina: The would be locked in there room for 23 hours a day for ten
days and given to regular meals a day Cindy: you were put on lock down in solitary
confinementthey took all your personal
belongings and you only can eat dbu burgers
